Laura Coyle is responsible for daily operations and management of the facility. Laura earned her degree in Family Services from the University of Nebraska. She served as an in-home counselor at Boys Town for two years. Laura also worked at Prairie Life Center for five years as the Youth Program Director. Prior to Garden Patch CLC Laura owned and ran a successful in-home child care business for five years.
Katie Opfer's duties will include supporting the director, Laura, in the daily operations of Garden Patch CLC, as well as helping the teachers grow the children's social and emotional development. Katie knows how important it is to also develop the children's physical and mental well being. She will also be working with the teachers to make sure that the curriculum is being implemented. Katie has been in the child care field for 15 years, with two and a half of those years running her own in home child care. She has a 13 year old son that is in 7th grade at Russell Middle School, and a 4 year old daughter that attends Garden Patch CLC. Katie has been with Garden Patch Creative Learning Center since we opened in September 2009. She comes to work with great enthusiasm and excitement to help the families and staff get on the right foot when they come in the doors. She helps provide a safe and nurturing place for the children to grow.
Julie Perrault is responsible for curriculum development and implementation. Julie graduated from The University of Tulsa with an English degree and a BA in elementary education. She has taught school for 14 years. While teaching school, Julie has also served as a representative on the Omaha Archdiocese Curriculum Board. She was instrumental in helping create and revise the language arts curriculum that has since been adapted for the Omaha Catholic Schools. Julie also served on the Continuous Improvement Committee at Mary Our Queen School, and her efforts contributed to the school’s accreditation in 2008.
